About Lando's Blog

"I'm akin to a therapist disguised as a bartender, yet I'm a doctor hidden behind the façade of a chef."

F.A.M. - Food As Medicine

Hello, I'm Lan Thai, also known as Lando. I find happiness in this tumultuous journey we call life, though it can be elusive at times. I consider myself incredibly lucky to be on this unique and bizarre adventure. Through this blog, I aim to share my insights, health tips, recipes and even a touch of humor and silliness, all serving as a creative outlet.

Drawing from my extensive knowledge and experience as a professional chef, enriched by my world travel experiences and Vietnamese/Chinese cultural upbringing – a heritage rooted in living off the land in Vietnam – and fueled by my curiosity in nature, art, fiction, science, history, and philosophy, I have gathered invaluable insights into the art of being that encompasses both wellness and unwellness.

For over a decade, I have been cooking for people with chronic illnesses, diseases, and postpartum moms. And even prior to that, I have been cooking since I came out of my mother's womb for the means of survival. And in between that, I've trotted around the world, worked in Silicon Valley, owned my own organic catering company and even food as medicine cafes. This journey has positioned me on the frontline, providing me with a unique and valuable perspective. I'm akin to a therapist disguised as a bartender, yet I'm a doctor hidden behind the façade of a chef.

My aspiration is that you discover something meaningful from this blog, as I strive to contribute my small part to this world and be of service.
